Any CRS -59 owners out there and in fact any other interested parties might like to know that the CRS-59 made it into the latest Tom Wheeler update on The Stratocaster. So it is now "official" an no longer a matter of conjecture.
Tom wheeler has long been the official Fender Sanctioned historian as many of you will know and the chapter contains quotes from Bruce, Greg Fessler and yours truly.
I am pleased to say that the CRS-59 is now firmly ensconced in the Fender History Books and was considered important enough to include in the 10 year update to The Stratocaster Chronicles, along with The Black Strat (David Gilmour) and Brownie (Eric Clapton).
The book is called The Stratocaster Continues by Tom Wheeler.

Hi Howard,

It's indeed recognition at last!
It seems Fender seems to forget and not recognize all Hanks signatures as such, instead they see the all of them as dealers special....
It's indeed also very good photographed and printed in her complete glory....
A few months ago when I received my copy, after the first disappointment, the book was just a small/thin/skinny thing.....apparently only the updated part to company the original book(in my possession for about 10 years).....I got as struck by lightning when I turned the page and the crs was showed like a centrefold ;)
They should bring it out as a regular CS signature model, but Fender won't do it because it won't bring the financial avalanche as the clappy one....

Cheers Rob
