I've not found much about these little amps on here.

I play at a bi-weekly folk and blues club, in theory it's all acoustic, but seeing as they're all plugged into the PA I've always taken my own amp and played mostly electric guitars, problem being though that even a 20 watt valve amp is pretty loud once it starts cooking.

So I bought one of these on a well know auction site, from reviews it seems that most people want these for the VOX distortion, they say that's what made VOX what it was, personally I disagree on that, most people I knew in the 60's wanted amps like VOX for the clean headroom and used to back off once they started to distort too much, however, the amp arrived and the sound started to break up around 3 o'clock and was fairly thin sounding not quite wasp in a jamb jar but getting there.

I changed the front end Sovtek valve for an Electro Harmonix 5751 and now it's big, warm and doesn't start to distort until around 10 ish on the volume.

Mind you for 4 watts it's LOUD

Thanks for the info Geoff as you say for 4WATT they are very loud although you can set them to 1/4 or 1 watt
As I have 2 of these amps I am looking to sell one if any body is interested? PM me for details.
