I just saw this and thought it was rather peculiar.

Country of Manufacture UK
Introduced... 2009 (Custom Series) - reportedly a Limited Edition of only two units

Scale 25½ ins
No. of Frets 21 (with zero fret)
Headstock Scroll
Colours/Finish Silver Sparkle
Scratchplate 3-piece
Pickups 3 x Jet Harris Signature (slanted)
Controls 1 x Volume, 2 x Tone, five-way Pickup Selector
Bridge/Tailpiece/Tremolo Engraved Rezo-tube. Plate inscribed "THE SHADOWS Designed and Handcrafted for (signature) Jet Harris"
Hardware Chrome

NOTE: this is a slightly bizarre "signature" model, given that bass and six-string bassist Jet Harris is not known at all for playing regular six-string guitar

Here is the url: http://www.trevormidgley.com/BurnsGuita ... arris.html

I though it was peculiar for several reasons. First it says made in UK in 2009 (!) Second, it says limited edition of two units (would Jet have one?) Third, the words "THE SHADOWS" inscribed on the bridge/tremolo plate. . . the whole things sounds kind of weird.

Does anyone know more about this guitar?

Yes... and I know who has the other one (if there really are only two), though it was made and sold some years ago, rather than in 2009.

I'm really not sure why the author of that web page would say:

"NOTE: this is a slightly bizarre "signature" model, given that bass and six-string bassist Jet Harris is not known at all for playing regular six-string guitar".

Jet is certainly known for playing guitar (which he once memorably described in a magazine interview as "pukka guitar") rather than bass. His biggest hits as a solo or duo artiste were made with a guitar:

Diamonds
Scarlet O'Hara
Applejack

Looking at the picture that you posted Didier, that guitar appears to be a 'Marquee'. There are many of those in that colour.

You are right, my mistake... I picked the wrong photo. This is indeed a Marquee that this friend had and sold when he bought the 2004 Marvin. It's not the "Jet Harris" model he just bought, which is this one :

As you mau guess he is a great fan of Burns guitars...

Good choice of scratchplate colour too, Jet!(says he who has that colour on two of his Marvins!). Interesting IMHO how the scratchplate colour looks different on a silver guitar compared to a white one.......then again it could be the 45 or so years difference in the age of the material used! ;)
