Mesa boogie cab clone

Hi all

Hope you all had a nIce christmas

I saw on andertons website the other day a piece of kit by Mesa boogie called the cab clone, it basically plugs in to your guitar amp and allows you to record it without having it plugged in to a cab, ie you can turn the amp up loud and yet not disturb the neighbours. I have no idea if it would replicate an ac30 cab but it's great for those that have an ac30 and want to record at home

The basis of the unit will be a big resistor (cost to the manufacturer a few pennies) which absorbs the power that your amplifier puts out (this is why the top is louvred - to let the heat out). There will be a little bit of fancy circuitry to apply various damping factors to the signal and of course there are some sockets, but I would be fascinated to know just how much of that £219 is pure profit - probably about £200!
