Watched this on BBC 4 last night. Nice to see how the brand evolved over the years. Worth a trip to MK to see their first ever amp. Nice UK family business.

I worked in the 1st factory in Bletchley when I was in my teens, Jim would often be on the shop floor, cutting out the covering for the amp,s and speaker cabs and in the woodwork shop, sometimes I would be wireing up amps and cabs, and testing them only time I ever played through a Marshall amp.
It was strange seeing ken Bran, after allmost 50yrs, he was factory Manager when I was worked there, happy days.

A fascinating programme, very well made, for a change. I'll have to watch it again soon.
It was nice to see Rick Parfitt's stack, with the AC30s.
Pat.

Trust me to be a bit boring, but I think it can all get a bit TOO loud, past the point of being able to hear...anything. I remember a few years ago going to see a Queen tribute band... they were so loud quite a number of our group had to leave the hall. I would have liked to actually hear what was being played. As I left the hall exit I spoke to the sound guy and told him I though it was far too loud. His answer was that 'it was a bit quiet that night and that they usually play louder...'
I think many musicians think they can better gain the audience's attention if they play louder- no they can better gain the attention of the audience if they play something worth listening to.
