G&L Floating Tremolo Setup
Posted: 03 Nov 2014, 14:08I have read the G&L Manual re the height of the trem off the body and it says 3/16s... which I thought was a lot !
I have made enquires on the web and it would seem that the new guideline is actually 1/8" or 3mm with the trem plate parallel to the body. Here is the detail with a quote from G&L included and a webpage with some pics showing how it should look. It may depend on how the neck is set into the body as to final adjustments.

The distance between the body and the bottom of the bridge should be 1/8".
The PDF Set Up file only pertains to the early G&L instruments of that time.
The dimensions and specs have changed over time as the instruments were tweaked or changed over the years.
Steve Grom has done much to standardize and refine our instruments. The result is a line of instruments that are more
consistent in quality, better component fit, and better playability.
I've asked him for a cutoff year for using the original G&L Owner's Manual and if there are any changes to the
other settings in the existing PDF file?
