iRig

As per usual I was about 10 years behind the tech, but I have recently bought an iMac Tablet. This led me to iRig.

For anyone unfamiliar with iRig, it enables a person to play a guitar through their tablet and listen to the result through headphones. Very useful to "bedroom" players, as volume can be as loud as the ears can take (don't damage your ears!!!) without disturbing other people in the vicinity.

A variety of amps (sadly no AC30TB) and effects (nice delay/echo and compression/reverb) can be downloaded at approx £2.99 each. You get 4 effects included in the initial cost of approx £35.

I have had a bit of a play with it. It won't give you "THAT SOUND", but some of the presets give a nice 1961 vintage valve amp/tape echo type.

I daresay there are other similar effects available. It will also work through an iPhone.

I was wondering if anyone else had tried one?

Regards
Christopher

Get the JamUp Pro app and use it with the iRig and you can get a great Shads sound with the AC30 amp and Roland multitap echo modelling.

I've been using the iRig Stom box/iPad/ JamUp set-up for a long time and get a better sound than many traditional kit set-ups I have heard.

Thanks for the heads-up re JamUpPro Noel.

At the moment I am trying to find my way around GarageBand!
