Hi all, I brought a telecaster from Argos at the beginning of the year. It was advertised as 'white' but is actually 50's ice- creamy cream colour (if that makes sense to anybody), which I was very happy about. It is £139.99 to buy and is a nice little guitar for anybody wanting to try out a telecaster. The 1 i brought, had a good set-up straight out of the box, stays in tune nicely and plays nice. Be a great budget guitar for a beginner or anyone who likes to upgrade pick-ups & things like that.

Well, if it's the one in the current catalogue, it's a Squier so it should be OK, if a wee bit overpriced for a Squier Tele...

Squier make some decent stuff, even the lower priced stuff can sometimes surprise you in terms of good quality, though it can be a bit hit and miss.
What are good though are the Squier Classic Vibe series, I've yet to try one that isn't superb for the money.

I can confirm what Dave has stated. Squier are really a quality manufacturer, & the further up the price scale you go the better they get. Even the cheap 'Affinity' budget end are OK for what you pay. But, as Dave mentions the Classic Vibe series & many of the Vintage-Modified series are pretty good guitars for the price paid. You really do get the Classic Fender sounds out of them with decent amplification. I would say 90% of the sounds for 25% of the price.
I have a Squier Classic Vibe '50s Tele in Vintage Blonde & it is a joy to play, with a real top class comfortable neck, low action & decent Alnico pickups.
Tony.
