Hi all, Just wandering if anyone else has the fiesta red Burns Shadows custom edition guitar? Mine is serial number 0276, brought new, a few years ago somewhere between 2006/2008 (can't remember exactly when). It is immaculate and comes complete with all original accessories and hardcase. Would anyone know, round about, how much this guitar would be worth now? I can't seem to find anywhere to value it, Its original RRP was £995. Thank You for any information you may have to help, cheers Ryan

I have one (No22) and it's a great playing and sounding guitar. A couple of years ago however, my friend needed to sell his and it only fetched £650 which was disappointing. I don't think they fetch what they are worth and intend to hang on to mine for a long while yet.

Problem is the market seems to have fallen out of secondhand guitars. There are now so many so called rare or collectables being offered. With all the parts now readily available Seems a lot of people are putting together their own to the spec they require and that is not helping. I have to say that I find it difficult to keep up with all that is on offer but it does seem that a good quality guitar can be bought at very reasonable prices.
Your guitar is a very nice model but will have limited appeal particularly to younger guitarists. If you like it and don't need to sell hang on to it like Dave.
It would be nice to see Burns coming up with some new ideas rather than keep reissuing " New Models " based on the shape of the Marvin. That market will inevitably die as Shadows fans dwindle.
Still gonna keep mine. Someone else's problem when I'm gone

The only reason i am considering selling this guitar, is i am on the heart transplant waiting list and in poor health. I haven't made my mind up yet, i would be very reluctant to sell it. However if i do sell it, i would like to get the best possible price for it and sell it to someone who would appreciate it as much as i have done over the years, ie: Shadows fans or similar.
Also how do i get to see any of you guys playing your guitars on the internet, am new to the site. Thanks for any help any of you may give me, Ryan

Hi Ryan sorry to hear about your poor health issues best wishes and I hope you recover well. The value of the guitar is what it's worth to you. It won't have depreciated like a car but won't have increased . Look at it this way if you have had 6 years enjoyment out of it and got £650 for it you will have spent £1 per week on your hobby. You couldn't buy 2 pints of beer in a month for that. If you have to get rid of it try to put some perspective on the value. You do however seem to enjoy it so unless you really need the cash try to keep hold of it. It probably won't lose any more value and you may regret it and look for something else to take its place.

Hi Ryan,

I have number 237. An excellent guitar. I bought mine second hand, several years ago now, but it was virtually unplayed at the time - still had the covering on the scratch plate. I think I paid £650 for it at the time (It may have been a little more)

I have it set up with 12-52 gauge strings and it easily matches my re-issue Strats for sound (vintage & modern) and feel.

Having undergone major surgery myself, my advice would be to hang on to it. There's nothing more therapeutic than playing a good guitar when you're recovering.

Good luck and kind wishes.

Terry

Just wondered if anyone else was disappointed that the Burns Company cannot supply replacement cleaning
cloths as was included with the 2004 Marvin Model etc.
A small detail perhaps, but would you clean your Ferrari with a cloth from a Pound Shop!!!

Hi all, Thanks for all your comments. Think I may keep it after all and hopefully have many more hours of enjoyment with it.
