Gibson custom shop

Postby Billyboygretsch » 24 May 2014, 14:36

A few years ago I purchased an Epiphone Sheraton as I could not justify the purchase of a Gibson. I liked the headstock it had been fitted with Seymour Duncan Pick ups and had the long tremolo with Epiphone embossed. It has a label on the back of the neck which states Gibson Custom Shop. There are other people who state they have this sticker on their guitars. I cannot seem to find out much about this. Epiphone I thought were now made in the Far East. Can anyone shed any light on this Custom shop thing
I am certain the label was applied since new so not some kind of ripp off. The guitar is finished exceptionally well with well figured woods

What colour is the oval serial label in the F hole? Should be a beige colour plus what is the serial number--then check it on this Epi date site.
