What is this?

Just seen this on eBay:

I wasn't aware that Hank ever endorsed a Bigsby (did his Gretsch have one)? Does anyone know anything about it?

Cheers.

It isn't a Bigsby. It was made by Jennings and sold as a Vox Hank B Marvin vibrato unit.

There were two models. There was the semi-acoustic type (as seen in that eBay auction) which was fitted to some Vox semis (particularly the Vox Victor).

There was also the solid ("horseshoe") type, as fitted to the Vox Phantom and Phantom Mk VI, as well as to a couple of other UK and Italian Vox solids:

Thanks, Jim. I guess it was a marketing ploy by Vox wanting to cash in on the popularity of Hank and The Shads at the time.

Cheers.

Jennings also sold Vox "Shadows" strings (made by James How and Co), Vox "Hank B Marvin" plectra and the Vox "Cliff Richard" outboard spring reverb unit.

I also dimly recall a Hank B Marvin guitar strap as well.
