I think I heard that Bruce had his Strat assessed for insurance purposes, and that it was an astronomical sum - anybody know what it was?

What would another Strat that was built at the same time in similar condition, purchased & belonging to someone who isn't famous be worth?

eBay USA has some answers.

Sunburst: $25,800 - http://www.ebay.com/itm/1958-Fender-Stratocaster-with-Gruhn-appraisal-100-ORIGINAL-RARE-/271416916531?pt=Guitar&hash=item3f31b57a33

Custom colour (though only a very unattractive black): $30,000 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1958-Fender-Stratocaster-/261431477251?pt=Guitar&hash=item3cde87c403

It seems the history and previous owners add greatly to the value! if it hasnt any history its just another old guitar!
