Would anyone be able to tell me roughly what this guitar is worth, please? I bought it, new, in late January, 1994. It's in Fiesta Red colour, and the condition is genuinely 'mint'. The only modification I had done to it was I replaced the bridge pick-up with a Kinsman pick-up shortly after I bought it.

Hi Richard, Does it have its tweed case + tags/candy (original Br-pup) etc, according to market conditions £750/1000 maybe a bit more, prices seem to fluctuate such a lot.

You haven't said what type of Kinman P/U is in the Bridge as basically this could have a bearing on its value overall.
If the original P/U is still in good condition, a buyer probably would be more interested in the all original set fitted.
A certain Mr Colin Pryce-Jones of the Rapiers once told me he would never consider changing on his Vintage 62 Reissue!!!

Thanks for your prompt reply. I sold the bridge pick-up on e-Bay when I replaced it in about 1995? I've kept everything else, including the tweed case, tags, spare 5-selector switch, spare tremelo spring, receipt etc.

Thanks for the prompt response. I sold the original pick-up when I had the Kinman fitted. I don't recall what the model name was, but I had discovered that Hank Marvin had started to use the pick-ups, and I simply bought the bridge one. It's hard to recall but at that time I did think that it gave a more mellow, 'fatter' sound than the original.

According to my 1990s Kinman fact sheet supplied with CV set purchased in1999, here are the specs
Hanks old 60s tone -Neck Avn59 Middle Avn 59 Bridge Avn 63 (CV set)
Hanks fat 60s tone- Neck Avn63 Middle Avn 63 Bridge Avn64 (FV set)

Oh dear we cant say fat now it has to be clinically challenged in 2014!!!!!

Thanks for the information you found in the Kinman fact sheet. ( 'Fat' sounds a lot more expressive than 'clinically challenged' though. )
I've had a look at the bridge pickup on my Stratocaster, and it's the Kinman Hx.

Hi Richard

I think all Kinmans are marked 'Hx' on the top cover which simply means 'Hum cancelling' and does not signify which models they are. I believe the individual designation is on the underside of the pickup so you'd have to remove the scratchplate to check it.
