I bought a sunburst Squier VM Jazzmaster last week after reading threads on this and Charlie Hall's site plus reviews and demos on YouTube. I got it on eBay for £175 and the seller even delivered it FOC. After a polish it looks immaculate and there isn't a mark on it.

It plays very well with a nice low action (the seller had had it set up and new strings fitted) and I'm impressed with the range of sounds available. Build quality is very good and to highlight the few minor imperfections would really be nit picking. I don't know how they do it for the money - it makes the Custom Shop models look ridiculously overpriced (but I won't reopen the old arguments about the pros and cons of CS guitars)!

I'm chuffed to death with my bargain!

Cheers.

Hi Tony,
I bought my Squier Jazzmaster last year, brand new & it only cost me £255. I am totally pleased with the bargain I got. As I said earlier, just press down hard on the Trem arm, so that it clicks into the socket properly. I am not sure about that 'Rocking bridge', but it's not causing any trouble at present, & I won't nitpick about minor issues on a guitar at this price. The sunburst finish is superb & all the hardware works properly.
You'll be playing the 'Ventures' now. Enjoy.

Tony.
