Vox Valvetronic

Hi All

Been thinking of a Vox Valvetronic as a home practice amp (VT15 ?) to play around with Shads stuff at home (perhaps even the local pub)
Are they any good ?, better than a Pathfinder 15R or just a little different ?

They are cheap to buy but don't want to waste my cash, used to have a DA5 that I regret selling so I presume these are very similar ?

Ideas anybody ?

I've used a valvetronix at home for years.... bloody brilliant. If you can't get a good Shads sound out of one of them you ain't tryin.

On the same subject, does anybody have any experience of the new(ish) AC15VR.

How loud is it compared with a valve AC15, for instance.

I would guess that it is nowhere near as loud.

Didn't somebody dress one of these up to look like a "proper" ac 15/30 ? .........suppose I could dress up the next etap that I'm doing as well to look like a baby vox .....can't sound like Hank but sure as hell can look the part

I have heard an early model (AD15-VT) at a Club meeting a few years ago, and it souded fine in a 50 people venue.

The Valvetronix VT15 (I.M.H.O.) is great value for the money and its flexibility
in sounds switching between the Vox and Fender amp modelling channels gives
surprisingly good Shads tones on mid and neck Strat pickups.
However despite much manual configuration via all the channels available I still
find Bridge P/U tones a bit thin and glassy overall.
This applies to Kinman CV, Strat 57 vintage Usa and Rezomatik (Burns Marvin)
bridge fitted as I currently use.
Anyone out there worked out an optimum setting of the tone on this amp to
thicken out the Bridge p/u a little more?

Dick, you're a very capable man. Why don't you build one ?
I built a Fender pro Junior and it's great.
The valve circuitry is very much like the AC15.
