You don't need a PIC kit if you let Ecca programme it for you, it's just a replacement job of taking out one screw, unplugging the tiny board and plugging in the new one, then replacing the screw. It took me ten minutes from taking off the cover to putting it back.
For the money the eTap2hw is amazing. Watch this space for a demo.
