I'm very conscious of the fact that no-one hsd answered your query although I may not be a great deal of help!
I do have one of these units but have only used it a couple of times and wasn't too worried about creating authentic Shadows sounds. However, a reviewer on Amazon suggests experimenting with Multi tap1. I hope this helps a bit. Might have another play around myself!

Hi Icarus,

I had one and for the money it is not bad, but don't expect rolling echos. Indeed Multi Tap 1 was the closest to what you want.

I hope this helps.

I have one and when the battery starts to go, which it does quite quickly, it goes into a world of it's own loosing sound switching echo off and on regardless of what you do with the footswitch, a pity really because I've been pleased with all my other Behringer pedals - I think it just does too much for a small 9 volt battery and if I'm going to run it on a PSU I might jut as well use my Boss ME-70 which runs for ages on a set of batteries and of course has a PSU as well.

My favourite echo pedal is an old Frontline job, is it accurate Shads echoes probably not but once you're playing either with a band or against backing tracks you can't really count the repeats of here much tonal variation.

Just to give thought for experimenting...

I once was given a Boss RE 20 which has very nice echo's, but not the Shadows types.
I did the following with a nice result.
I conneted Input A with my guitar, output A to input of a Behringer VD 400 echo and Output of that one to Input B .
Output B goes to the ampilier.
Mode selector of the RE 20 is 9, which give he best result for me.
Fidling with the controls will learn the best setting.

This can be done of course with any echo pedal.

Be careful with the reverb of the RE 20 because if that one is turned up to much is causes an internal feedback.

Kind regards,
Emiel
