How to make a Strat sound like a human voice

Postby Uncle Fiesta » 20 Feb 2015, 11:48

Just seen this posted on the Strat-Talk Forum.

The poster says:
"What do you think ? Nice? Bad? Strange ?
I've been trying to get a vocal-like sound out of my '72 Strat, using lots of fuzz and volume knob, and some other effects. The very first note does sound like a woman singing mmmmm I think ... the rest is somewhat more guitar-ish. Anyway, I will appreciate your comments about the first 40 seconds.
This is a new track in progress, don't know if it will be finished though ... it's such an unusual rhythm for me as I'm always in 4/4. It's just me on this track, working on the arrangements."

I was quite impressed, what do the rest of you think?

I've certainly never heard a Strat produce a tone like that although the "woman tone" is nothing new. Eric Clapton and others produced it with Gibson LPs and SGs, Marshall amps and not much more.
