Fender '59 pickups

Postby John Boyd » 14 Jan 2015, 18:22

Good morning all - greetings from NZ.
I'm putting together a 59 style Strat with a beautiful new 3TS Fender body and maple neck, and am wondering which
pickups to use to complete the project. I've noticed that Fender have a limited edition set of Pure Vintage 59
pickups available and wonder if anyone has used them. All comments most welcome.

Cheers,
JB

A minefield John!

I've always been happy with Custom Shop 54s but in your part of the world, how about Sliders? You could even call the guy to talk to him... http://sliderspickups.com/product-item/s-style/

Good morning David,
Thanks for your response. I have used Custom Shop 54s on a couple of earlier projects and have always been
pleased with the resulting sound, but just wondered if these new models offered anything better.
I'll go and take a look at the Sliders site.
Cheers,
JB
