what make valves? old or nos?

looking to revalve my pinnacle amp anyone got any recomendations for makes ect, read some good reviews about philips ef86 old stock. any one use them. and svetlana anyone use them. or is it all hype about different makes, and old being better than new. peter

thanks peter i was told they were good but not to use the 12ax7 as they break up very easyly and that tungsd would be better what do you think?? peter

Hi Peter,
Had them in mine for the past 18 months andthey have been great.I've just had my amp serviced and the techie man said that they were a good choice of valve so I Will stick with 'em. I first used them on recomendation from Charlie Hall

Hi Peter, you can put 12AY7's instead of AX's they give more headroom ie less breakup at higher volume
