I had one for three or four years and it was a very nice guitar indeed. I put 57/62s on it and the sound was indistinguishable from a US Strat.

Like Geoff, though, I wasn't keen on the neck profile and radius (I prefer a 'C') but I believe the guitar was modelled on a 57 Strat so it had a soft 'V' neck.

I sold it to help fund the purchase of another guitar but I still have fond memories of it.

Cheers.

The title of this thread is, HM Signature MIJ (made in Japan). These models are actually CIJ (crafted in Japan). I remember reading somewhere that stated the CIJ are a better quality than MIJ. At the base of the neck on mine, it clearly states CIJ alongside the serial number.
Regards to all, Terry.

Mine was one of the first series of 500 and had "Made In Japan" at the base of the neck. I understood that the second series, again of 500, were marked "Crafted In Japan" but otherwise there was no difference between them.

Cheers.
