QUOTE:
1965-66
Scroll Headstock
Green Burst
S Model Designation - Chambered Body
Flame Figured Top
Internally /Externally Original

Notes - The above was one of 3 prototype instruments produced for the Shadows and were used on the band's 1966 Australian Tour.

The instrument comes with full written verification.

ENDQUOTE

Presumably, that means "full written verification" of not having been used on the 1967 (not 1966) tour.

Roger

Having lived in the West of Scotland, you will be familiar with the phrase 'Haud me back...'

Am I alone in seeing this simply as a well-worn guitar in a rather unattractive shade of green being sold at an inflated price by those well-known price inflaters Music Ground?

Or is it special only because of the hands that have touched it?

And if it is the hands, then would that same veneration apply to other wooden objects that those hands have touched, such as a door, or a handrail, or a lavatory seat?

Ray

(This was a light-hearted comment - don't go heavy on me!)

trouble is Ray there isn't currently a toilet seat on Ebay that the Welch, Marvin, Bennet, Locking bum has rested on, so it's hard to compare prices.

Mind you I have a Shure SM58 that Ed Sheeran has sung a set through, should I wrap it in cling film and lock it away for 50 years?

I do recall at the height of Beatlemania a fan dreamily saying that Paul had once used her loo! But generally, yes, I think the object the famous hands have touched must also be the associated iconic object for its value to go up in this way. But 16 grand for a guitar that Hank or Bruce once played? Haud me back indeed!
