Marvin, Welch & Farrar At The BBC

Hi Everyone. I have been absent for a while because of technical problems. All resolved now I hope (thanks George!!). So...here is an important question for everyone. Basically, although Warner Music / BBC own the rights to the material broadcast by M, W & F....I can categorically tell everyone on this board that they will never issue the tracks....never. It is sadly, all down to money. They are not convinced that such an issue would sell 10,000 copies. To be honest they are probably correct in that assumption. So, financially, it is simply NOT WORTH IT...in their eyes. Simple as. End of.

A reissue company may be interested in going ahead......But.....money is tight everywhere. They need to be reassured that such a project MIGHT sell somewhere in the order of 2,000 copies (over a period of time). It would be a RISK for them......but, if they thought that 2,000 sales might be feasible...then there is a good chance that the project COULD go ahead (subject to approval from Bruce Welch).

The original premise was to reissue "M, W & F" + "Second Opinion". To be honest (great as they are), those albums have been out on CD several times now. Personally - I do not think a straight reissue of that pairing would sell 2, 000 copies.....maybe not even 1,000(??). The BBC tracks could not be 'bolted on'.....the licensing fees for both would render it unviable.

So...there it is...M, W & F at the BBC COULD happen.....if we think it could get close to 2,000 sales....over to you!!!

Best Wishes, Rob

I'd buy one - That's at least 5 or 6 to date!

It's a shame MWF weren't better received by the wider public record buyer.
Maybe if they'd chosen another name & tried to remain anonymous, they might have been more successful.

Needless to say, I'd buy more than one copy!

Interestingly, there's a pressing of their first album from Chile on ebay at the moment.
