Dr Jochen Bartsch has included 87 Shadows covers that were covered in Pipeline magazine with the addition of 17 more that weren't featured to complete the survey of all Shadows cover versions from 1959-1970. Adding those 17 brings the total up to a nice round 100. This will be a limited edition and a one off print run. Available from us and Pipeline magazine in the next two weeks. Full of info for Shadows fans.

Thanks Juliette and well done all. Mine arrived today. It’s beautifully produced, lavishly illustrated and contains lots of info we don’t necessarily know about the background to many of the Shads favourites that were not group compositions.

This concentrates on the more interesting covers: the EMI ones where the arrangements were unpredictable and showed off the Shadows’ technique and versatility.

I have received my copy last Saturday and I must say it's very well put together. A lot of information which I didn't know yet.

However, "Stranger On The Shore" and "Do You Wanna Dance" were not recorded live in November 1961, but in August or September 1962. Brian Locking wasn't yet a member of the group in November 1961, but from April 1962 to November 1963.

I hoticed that and I noticed a few other errors. Licorice is not on South of the Border etc.

It's a shame as it is well put together and offers a lot of useful information. Let it be Me was in their stage act for about three years

Interesting to read about others fan's opinion about certain tracks as well. For instance Jochen Bartsch isn't a great fan of the four 'Japanese' tracks from the album "The Shadows In Japan" ("Omoide No Nagisa", "Kimi To Itsumademo", "Londonderry Air" and "Gin-Iro No Michi") and also "Lara's Theme", which I think are all very good and enjoyable instrumentals.
By the way, I also wonder why "Zero X Theme" isn't included in the book.

I'm a big Chet Atkins fan and have pretty well all he's recorded including radio shows and live performances. I'm sure he never recorded 'Zambesi'. I'd be glad to be proved wrong as it's missing from my collection!
