A question for the experts: Do the numbers "36-24-36" have any deeper meaning?

Nice greetings - Wolfgang

Supposedly the vital statistics of an attractive woman :o

To conform with political correctness, other genders are available

The versions I have read about are either a young secretary in Peter Gormley's office or a former girlfriend of Jet.

Yes, the numbers, the perceived ideal female measurements, were popular worldwide at the time. The Shadows just picked it up, most likely. A Google search will show the perception is still alive, but now subject to criticism in some quarters as unrealistic for most.

But, back to the Shadows, that’s a very distinctive bass sound. How does one achieve it? Our bass guitarist has been trying!

Flatwound strings. Lots of treble on the amplifier. Use a stiff pick.

Nice greetings - Wolfgang

That's the ideal female measurements in inches. When you play this tune in countries using the metric system, you should convert it in cm, and call it 90-60-90 ! ;)
