The Vox Wah-Wah Pedal Demonstration record, recorded by the Thomas organ company in Hollywood in February 1967, was pressed on a medium-thickness laminated card sheet (about 160 gsm in today's parlance). The disc part of the sheet was serrated for easy separation.

I've had a copy (of the disc part and the rest of the sheet) since about May 1967 (sent to me by Jennings, or maybe it was VSL by then) and had transferred it to tape years ago. But by good fortune, I met the guitarist who made it - Del Casher - in Los Angeles (at a Guitar Geeks Convention) and spoke to him about it. The next day, he brought me a CD of that record (and other Wah-Wah material), copied from the master tape.

A guy up in Spilsby seems to be selling a massive collection of Shadows stuff. Just looked through it and I can say, quite honestly, that I have never seen so much Shads stuff in one place! There seems to be a lot lot of rare stuff... certainly stuff I personally have never seen or, in some cases, even heard of before! I've just spent £45 on a record. There's about 10 pages of stuff, so it'll take a while to look through. Anyway, here it is...

Thanks for that.
Quite an extensive list. Certainly a nice collection there.
Some rarities, I think some items are a bit over priced, would be interesting to see if he sells it all or not.

I snapped up the Australian release of Rockin' With Curly Leads on the EMI/CAPITOL label. It cost me forty quid, plus a fiver P&P, but I think it's worth it. I love the way they've used the inner gatefold photo as the outer cover, with Brian and John on the front! I see that there is an Australian EMI edition on the Aus ebay site at the moment for about $25 and about $40 postage to the UK. This looks like the one with the usual logo and title in a circle, placed above Brian, as opposed to the Capitol release which has a unique logo etc. I hope I've got the less common of the two.

Interesting... so the one I have just bought is Canadian? I had assumed it was Australian as I had surmised that the Australians would understandably be the only ones to feel obliged to put John Farrar on the front! Can't quite see why the Canadians would do it. Oh well, I'll still assume that the Canadian issue is probably less common than the Australian issue. It's slightly more collectible, in my opinion, as it bears the unique front cover band name and album title. Interestingly, there's also an Indian variation on ebay at the moment, but it looks to be literally falling apart at the seams!
